A person can face serious criminal charges if he or she is accused of having committed drug crimes. If a person is convicted of such charges, he or she can be given major punishments. Thus, being accused of committing drug crimes can be a very serious allegation.
Recently, a drug crimes case has arisen in Florida. The case involves a 36-year-old man from Miami. Reportedly, last Wednesday, the man was driving a car along I-75. Authorities allege that the 36-year-old man began to drive in a suspicious fashion when a police car came near his vehicle. Allegedly, police then pulled the man over for an illegal window tint.
Authorities allege that the man was acting in a nervous fashion during this stop. Reportedly, police eventually brought a drug sniffing dog over to the man's car. According to authorities, with the assistance of this drug sniffing dog, police discovered cocaine in the man's car. Authorities allege that over a pound of cocaine was found in the man's car.
Police then arrested the 36-year-old man. Reportedly, the man faces charges of using a vehicle to transport drugs and cocaine trafficking.
This case illustrates a couple of points. First, it shows how police will sometimes use drug sniffing dogs in their drug crime enforcement efforts.
Second, it shows how an individual can face major criminal charges if he or she is accused of committing drug crimes. Thus, being accused of committing drug crimes can be a very serious matter. Consequently, if an individual is accused of committing a drug crime, he or she may wish to consider seeking advice from a criminal defense attorney.
